"This is the best day ever!"

Cameron and Oliver have been saying this each day since they found the Christmas decorations.

Thanksgiving

Thanks to all for a memorable Thanksgiving! A special thanks to our hosts for the cooking and for providing a spacious kitchen allowing the whole family to contribute to the delicious meal. Hope everyone arrived home safely from the weekend travels.
Kate's camera case is missing. We found a dvd in the trunk that's not ours.
Dad and Sal are working on the RI floor in the next few days. I'm excited.

Cameron's birthday...Nana and Poppy came for a sleepover!

We enjoyed Cameron's party this weekend. Fun with games - balloon treasure hunt and hot potatoe with Hannah Montana. There were some great swings for the fish pinata. (Note: Pixy Stix in a pinata....not wise...they make a cloud of sugar)

They picked the smallest room in the house to play in...the clubhouse (and Oliver is in there too)

Lots of happy screams and sliding down the stairs (which I still think is a little more uncomfortable than enjoyable).

Now we are excited about Thanksgiving! Safe travels to everyone!

Thanksgiving & Things

Kate and I finally (sort of) figured out what's going for Thanksgiving. Because we're bringing the Gizmo up and Kate's allergies seem to prevent her from breathing at times, we'll only be able to stay at Kate and Noah's on Thanksgiving Thursday. We're thinking of driving to Mom and Dad's on Wednesday morning and getting there Wednesday afternoon. Then going up with them on Thursday to Kate and Noah's (leaving dog in Carmel), and coming back with Mom and Dad Thursday night. We'll be leaving on Saturday morning.

Plans are already underway for Christmas. See everyone soon.

Also, as of Friday morning there are some pictures posted of some wedding back in September when a bunch of people got in their cars or on planes and somehow found themselves in Virginia of all places. Super-secret confidentail details have been e-mailed. If not, let us know.

Chris, hope you enjoy the new ride. Kate & Noah, hope you enjoy the burden of a house being lifted.

Happy Birthday Poppy!!!!

Wednesday, October 25, 2006

It's probably not a secret that Meyer members either save all sorts of odd things for future projects or sentimental value OR feel the need to have two of things.
I believe I am victim of both Meyer habits. But I have learned something not to save, even though it is against my being....school projects made with any food items. A Cameron original Halloween decoration paper plate spider was found packed adjacent to a bean wreathe. The beans and paper plate spider fell victim to rodent appetite. Lesson learned. (But don't get me wrong....the Meyer in me has that wounded paper plate spider hanging right next to the recently made Oliver original paper plate spider....an example of saving odd things AND the need to have two.)

Hope everyone is well.

I have learned today that a contract stating that a closing will be on or before October 15, 2006, does not mean the closing will be on or before October 15th.
Go figure.
Hmm...I'm thinking "contract" is the stupidest word to use for that packet of papers.
I guess we have no idea when to expect the closing for the white house.
Who changed the look to this blog? No problems, I like it. I just wish I knew how it was done.

Louisiana Wedding Celebration

It was a pretty quick weekend, but we were able to get a lot done. It was a great time and the trip wasn't too bad. We kept each other sane and awake (except Gizmo), so that's a plus.

Sounds like everyone's been busy (apparently Chris got a promotion, congrats). Talk to everyone soon.

Everyone,

Thank you so much for being with us the past few days. Words cannot explain how much you mean to us.

Mom, Dad, Kate, Noah,

We would love any copies of pictures you had taken because we took none.

Hope everyone got home safely and look forward to talking to everyone soon.

Cameron getting ready for her first day of school on Friday.

Oliver watching his train that Daddy had fixed.

Oliver noticing that pictures are being taken.

Cameron coming home. She ran off the bus with a huge smile on her face.

Chris - Thank you for all your help today (driving all that way, moving furniture, straightening Cameron's legs and helping Oliver get the pillow in the window - just to mention a few things)!

Maybe this will be the last picnic we have in the old backyard?

Can you believe the boy on my left will be married in less than a week? And the boy on my right with the naked face will soon be married for two months? And why are they both so much taller than me?!

Buon Compleanno!!

Not sure if I spelt that right, but Happy Birthday Katie! Hope you have a good time out in Rhode Island even if the weather is crumby. You can stay inside and play that French driving card game (Miles Borne?) Safe travel.

Happy belated Birthday to Sister-in-Law Jane. Hope the new school year start's off well for you. Also, let's observe a moment of silence for Pluto being demoted to a "dwarf planet". Sad.

Noah chipping...
Last weekend we visited the Cobleskill Fair. It was a fun day with great weather, ferris wheel, kiddie coaster, motorcycle ride, animals (cows, bunnies, chickens, goats, sheep, horses and more), corn-dogs, pulled pork sandwiches, model railroads, fried dough, smoothie.

Any news?

Doesn't anyone use this blog anymore? OK here's the news: Jane & Chris have photos to share. Go to Ramirezpix.com/janechris. They are lovely, I must say. But then I always loved black and white photos. Must be my age.
Jason and Kate will be arriving sometime Friday afternoon, around 3:00. Have a safe trip.
Katie, tell those munchkins I'm coming for a sleepover, Wednesday afteronoon. Dad promised to use the apportunity to turn off all the water and work on the pipes in the family room.
Love you all,
Mom

Shower in LA

Been a while since anyone posted here. Kate and I finally found time to sit down at the computer and we thought we'd just let everyone know that we received toasting flutes at Kate's bridal shower! And a "thank you" to Mom and also to Grandma for the flatware, hostess set, and serving set. We can't wait to have everyone here so we can use them. Also Kate's parents and grandfather got us a combination printer/scanner/copier/time machine. We're very excited to use it to print out our invitations, so the people reading this know they are invited. And now for no reason, here's a creepy picture of Gizmo:

One Week!

One Week....One Week....One Week....Until my brother's wedding....One Week One Week.
(sing it to the song from Popeye - "He's mean....He's mean....He's mean")

Hey, I'm totally slacking on this blog but Noah rocks on the Brownsey Family blog. Check out the pics of my babies by using the link on the left side.

Dear Brothers:
Have a great weekend and safe trips!

Tuesday, June 06, 2006

I'll be going up for the Chris Meyer Bachelor Party this weekend, and will hopefully take care of the groomsman tux thing before I get up there. Hope the shower goes well for Jane too. And lil' Cameron's dance recital on Sunday too. A lot of stuff going on!

Kate and I got engagement pictures taken over the weekend and should have some results of that soon. Will let everyone know when we find out. Same with choosing flowers and things.

Katie and Noah: We're all praying down here for your peace of mind during this tough time of transition. Anyone want to talk, we're here.

Chris and Jane: Also with you guys as the wedding plans are wrapping up and another move is on the way for you. We hope you are able to find a place that works for you and that lets you play Risk.

Mom and Dad: We're praying down here for Grandma as she is hopefully recovering her strength. Next time you talk to her, let her know we're thinking of her and Kate's family asks about her too. We hope you guys are managing well and looking forward to the next few months of changes and celebration! Take care all.

Our fantastic visit to Virginia!

Delicious home cooking, picnic and wine tasting at a vineyard, hiking to waterfalls, playing dress up, getting nails polished, stroll at Virginia Tech, Gizmo entertainment, SceneIt and peanutbutter pie. It may have been a long travel, but we enjoyed every moment of our visit. Thank you Kate and Jason for a fantastic weekend!

Wedding Website (9/16/06)

Here's the link:

http://weddings.theknot.com/pwp/view/co_main.aspx?coupleid=3248080752700275&guestpassword=
It's got the information related to the wedding as well as to the registries at The International House of Pancakes, T.J. Maxx, and Bed Bath & Beyond. Only one of those is real though.

Hopefully Kate and Noah had some offers on the house today and the whole experience is going OK. Look forward to seeing you guys this weekend if you guys are still able to make it. If it seems like too much right now, we would completely understand. Talk to you guys soon.

Chris, looking forward to the "garbage plates", but I don't know how to...how you say..."golf", so we shall see when I get there.

Mom and Dad, hope you guys are well and enjoying the warmer weather (we got it today, so it should be up there on Monday).

This was Jason.

I'll have the fish

Chris & Jane: Just got the invite today. Looks great and just wanted to let you know we'll be there. Hope all is well with everyone.

Updates: Gizmo got a haircut so he doesn't look like a mound of hair anymore, I'll be done with tests n things as of Tuesday night, Kate is looking around for other jobs because she's pretty much done with her current one. "Done" as in, "not liking it". Things are looking good though because the semester's over and the college kids are leaving town, so that leaves us "locals" here. Kids with their rap music nowadays.

Mom: Curious about the which hotel we're staying at for Curtin/Meyer bonanza.

All: We will have a website with information regarding reserving rooms to sleep for the Brennan/Meyer union most likely by next week.

Brennan/Meyer Wedding 2006

Kate and I have found the perfect place for us to get married and here it is. It's called Valhalla Vineyards in Roanoke, VA. The place has this amazing view, a great sized area for the wedding outside, a perfect room for drinking wine, dancing, drinking wine, eating, and drinking wine. If you want to check out the inside and some more info: valhallawines.com, click on Event Planning.

We also met with a great photographer today that pretty much matches our style perfectly. Things are getting pretty exciting. Now that we've found the place, we'll be continuing with the next steps. So it's official, it's Saturday, September 16, 2006!! We'll let everyone know things as we find them out. We look forward to the Easter visit. Chris and Jane: we're most likely not going to the music festival in TN, but maybe we can work some visit out while you're down here.

Arm Update...

Looking good. No follow up appointments scheduled.
I do need to build up the strength again (slowly because it is still sensitive).
Doc did explain that I may not get my arm to bend and straighten as far as I used to, but no worries - I'm not convinced of that and will keep working it to try to get it back to the way it was. Wish me luck!
Kate, Gizmo, and I have been down in Florida since Wednesday morning because her grandmother's health has declined pretty severely. She was admitted into the Intensive Care Unit and has been there since Tuesday night.

She and Kate's mom had gone to Las Vegas and airplane ride back she began hallucinating slightly. She had also been having problems with her foot and it was getting to the point where the doctors were considering removing the foot or toes, due to very poor circulation. If it had to come to removal of the foot, they would have to use a very heavy anasthetic, and she would most likely not make it through this kind of surgery.

Difficult decisions didn't have to be made though, because she's doing much better now and has been moved to a different room and is in much better spirits. The color is returning to her foot and it's obvious she's in a better state of mind. Where it is right now, Kate, Gizmo, and I will probably be coming back on very early Sunday morning. I hope everyone is doing well even though we haven't talked in a while. Take care everyone.

Happy Spring!

And Happy St. Joseph's Mom! Dad was right...Oliver woke up and picked out the cherry cheese cake. It was great having you both over. Thank you for your help with dropping things off at the house. Cameron got ready for school this morning with her clean mirror (and 5 barrettes I think).

Oh and this message has been posted with our cable modem - Woohoo!!!

Arm Update:
Good news! Doc said - X-ray looked good, can hardly see the fracture.
He moved my arm around a bit. That wasn't much fun but I was surprised how much further he could move it than I could...hmm...and then my ears started ringing...started getting warm...probably would have fallen over if I was asked to stand up. He mentioned doing another x-ray and talked alot but I really couldn't hear him at that point. Had some time to chill before next x-ray which looked fine - he wanted to check my forearm b/c of where I said some pain was. I guess I'm just a wimp.
So now I get to work my arm 3-4 times a day for about 5 minutes (Fortunately, he seemed to repeat most of what he might have said earlier b/c I really missed it then). I go back in two weeks.
